Our Services

Cheam House

Cheam House is a 9 bed specialist supported living service for adult males with autism based in the heart of Cheam Town in Sutton. It is located metres from the main high-street and is a five-minute walk from Cheam Train Station. It has off street car parking for visitors and staff.

The service is designed in two separate wings with 6 en-suite rooms in one wing and 3 en-suite rooms in the other. The service promotes individuals leaving hospital settings to be supported in developing their independent living skills. All bedrooms are en-suite and are 15 square metres in size.

The service provides a highly specialist ‘in the community option’ that meets the needs of adult males with Autism, preventing the need for out-of-area placements and enables individuals to be repatriated to their home area.

Cheam House – 3-bed wing

Each bedroom benefits from having two entrance doors. One is internal and enables the occupant to access the communal areas as well as allow staff safe access and observation in the delivery of care. The other is external and is essentially a front door enabling carers to support service users during a period of crisis by visiting them in their own bedroom, affording other service users their privacy. The provision of front doors promotes the service ethos of supporting independence back to the community as soon as is possible and enables continued carer involvement during their stay.

The 3-bed wing benefits from a high spec sensory room that provides a safe space for service users to take time out. The room is equipped with mood lighting, surround sound and comfort seating.

Cheam House – 6-bed wing

The 6-bed wing is served with generous communal facilities which include, dining room, main living space, quiet lounge, activities lodge, clinic, ADL kitchen, shared laundry and large private garden.

Each bedroom has been sympathetically designed with the client group in mind and aims to create a homely feel whilst incorporating standard safety features which you would expect within an independent mental health hospital.
